Imitate God, therefore, in everything you do, because you are his dear children.
Ephesians 5:1 NLT
One of the funny things kids do sometimes when they are little is that they imitate the actions of their parents. Sitting at the kitchen table, they will hold up their hands as if holding a newspaper just like their father. They will lower their hands to look over the top of the pretend paper just like their dad does.
The truth is that our children often learn to imitate our behaviors, opinions, and words. Being a parent is a huge, wonderful responsibility!
In Ephesians 5:1 we are told that we need to imitate God because we are His children. Think back over today, did your actions and words imitate God? Or the world?
The good news is that the more time you spend with God the more you will imitate Him. So if today is an imitation bust, you can turn it around by spending time with God and beginning to imitate His behaviors and His words!
Until next time, blessings and healing
