The Porcupine Offense
Make allowance for each other’s faults, and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others.
Colossians 3:13 NLT
When people say or do things that offend and hurts us it’s like they toss us a porcupine to hold.
We have a choice to hold on tightly to that porcupine as it’s needles dig more deeply into our flesh. we can throw it back at them by saying hurtful words or doing hurtful things. Or we can choose to forgive them by putting down the porcupine so it can wander off.
To be honest, unfogiveness only hurts ourselves. We are the one holding the porcupine not the person who hurt us. The tighter we hold onto the offense the deeper the porcupine needles dig into our flesh.
Today, pray for the Lord to help you forgive the other person. When your heart is willing God does the forgiveness work through you!
Say, good bye to the porcupine.
Until next time,
Blessings and healing
