Jesus Loves You

I have heard people asking where God is during this Covid-19 outbreak.  Some have even asked if He cares that we are all suffering.

As I sat there reading and listening, I was reminded of a time when I was asking God very similar questions.  About 10 years ago, I was going through a time when I was experiencing severe pain in my back and shoulders.  The pain was constant and stabbing.  It hurt to sit.  It hurt to stand.  Basically, it hurt to move.

One day, I was driving into work.  I was overwhelmed by the pain.  As I came to a stop at a light, I began to cry.  Then I even began to get a bit angry.  I had come back to a relationship with the Lord a couple of years earlier.  And it seemed that since then, I had been having one health issue after another.  The Doctors didn’t have answers or cures.  My friends and I had been praying, but there was no change in my condition.  Each day was a struggle.  And frankly, I was tired of fighting.

So sitting there at the stop light with tears streaming down my face.  I angrily asked God if He knew how much pain I was in?  I asked if He even heard my prayers.  And finally, I asked Him even He even cared about me and how I was feeling.

At that moment, I felt a gentle urging to look up.  I slowly raised my eyes to look out my windshield.  As I looked up, I saw one of those sky writing planes begin to write its message.  The writing in the blue sky read:

I sat there with my heart overflowing with God’s love.  He did hear me.  And He did care.  I don’t believe in coincidences.  I believe in God incidences.  That day, the Lord heard my cries.  He let me know that He loved me and He was there with me in the midst of the pain.

Shortly, after that day the doctors were able to diagnose what was causing the pain.

I am sharing this testimony now because I think people need to hear that God is with us during this Covid-19 outbreak.  And yes, He does care that we are suffering.  I truly believe that when we come out the other side of all of this we are going to see an abundance of God’s blessings.  In fact, I am already seeing His blessings each day and I’m so thankful that He is at work in the midst of this!
